Today’s dental sessions require an exhaustive knowledge of products, instruments, and equipment.  Our profession has changed and grown to a new level, which offers us continuous challenges to recognize the new advances in technology and their use in dental hygiene.  As professionals providing health services, we should be at the pulse of clinical devices and treatment, while being able to recommend product protocols for use in the office.  The process of care (assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, implementation, and evaluation) requires us to understand what the products are, how to use the products, contemporary treatment options, how to implement the procedures and evaluate what is, and what is not working for us as individuals and as clinicians.  (3 Hours of CE Credit)

Over the past few decades, there has been a focus on ergonomics in the workplace and its impact on repetitive motion issues.  Various State and National agencies have begun to pay specific attention to these issues and how they impact the workers ability to provide the best possible care for patients.  These agencies have also begun to educate people in the workplace on how improving workplace environments can not only lengthen your career but also improve the quality of your work.  This course will review ergonomics, how to increase your awareness of repetitive motion problems, and how they may be impacted by operatory design, instrument utilization / design / selection, sharpening skills / options and a variety of other issues.  Detailed information will be offered on a variety of instruments, vision enhancement choices, technical products, as well as design options to best allow you to fulfill your requirements in relating to the total health of your patients.  (3 Hours of CE Credit)

Course Description: It's all Connected: Oral Health & Whole Body Wellness
Oral care practice has changed significantly over the past decades, oral health professionals' roles in patients' overall health maintenance continue to grow in importance.  Dental professionals have long been aware of some of the oral/systemic links but with the exponential growth of interest and information in this area, it can be extremely difficult to keep up with the latest literature, let alone to separate well-supported clinical evidence from unsupported hypotheses.  This course will inform the entire dental team on these advances, as well as provide practical information about how these emerging evidence-based connections may affect your practices. (3 Hours of CE Credit)
